Shundrallah A. Covington Receives the Association of Legal Administrators’ Quest Award for 2016

MIAMI – Murray Law, P.A. is pleased to announce that the firm’s Director of Administration, Shundrallah A. Covington, has been selected to receive the 2016 Quest Award from the Association of Legal Administrators (“ALA”).
The ALA was founded in 1971 to provide support to professionals involved in the management of law firms, corporate legal departments and government legal agencies. The ALA South Florida Chapter was the second chapter to become a member of the National Association of Legal Administrators in 1972.
The Quest Award recognizes a new member who is involved in a number of ALA activities and demonstrates conviction, dedication and relentless pursuit of personal and professional excellence. Nationally, there were over 500 eligible candidates this year, 11 of whom were nominated by their chapters for the Quest Award recognition. Shundrallah Covington was nominated by the ALA South Florida Chapter because of her tireless work in the area of Diversity and Inclusion. She helped form and organize the chapter’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She coordinated diversity seminars for ALA members and suggested that the chapter adopt an at-risk high school by specifically working with the business and technology departments as mentors. In addition, Covington created workshops for the students that combined teaching and interactive activities. Under her leadership, the ALA South Florida Chapter continues to expand the outreach of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and now regularly participates in the Kozyak Minority Mentoring Picnic, a highly-respected annual event that attracts minority students from all law schools in the state of Florida. Covington stated: “I am pleased to be recognized by friends and colleagues for my service to the legal profession and my community.”
Covington is responsible for directing, managing and overseeing the daily office operations of Murray Law, P.A. to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. She provides client practice support to attorneys to ensure the highest level of legal services. Covington is responsible for all operational functions with emphasis on human resources management, budget performance, facilities, safety and security, purchasing, legal administrative assistant support and managing internal and outsourced support. Covington works closely with the firm’s leadership to meet the firm's mission and goals.
The firm’s attorneys practice in the area of franchise and distribution law and provide counsel and assistance with creating, managing, licensing, protecting and enforcing franchised business relationships, product distribution systems and dealership networks. The firm’s franchise and distribution law practice specifically relates to licensing and development, regulation and compliance, and dispute resolution through mediation, arbitration and litigation. Murray Law’s litigation experience consists of general commercial litigation in state and federal courts, including franchise and distribution law, intellectual property, and real property matters.
Shun Covington received her B.A. from Trinity International University-Florida and her M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix.
