MIAMI – Murray Law, P.A. is pleased to announce that the firm’s President and CEO, Jason M. Murray, has been selected to receive the 2016 Distinguished Honoree Award from the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Foundation.
The Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association. For over thirty years, the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association has “served the Miami-Dade community by cultivating excellence and inclusion in the legal profession, promoting diversity in legal education through financial assistance and mentorship and advocating for equal access, opportunity, and justice in the legal system.” This bar organization has a rich legacy of providing a voice for Black legal professionals in the communities it serves.
The Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association’s charitable foundation presented Murray with the 2016 Distinguished Honoree Award on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at its 38th Annual Scholarship & Awards Gala held at the historic Alfred I. DuPont Building. The Distinguished Honoree Award recognizes an attorney who has achieved and sustained an extraordinary level of excellence in the legal profession. Honorees must be nominated by peers and then selected by the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Foundation selection committee. Jason Murray is the President of the Dade County Bar Association and a Past President of the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association. Murray stated: “I am pleased to be recognize by friends and colleagues for my service to the profession.”
Murray practices in the area of franchise and distribution law and provides counsel and assistance with creating, managing, licensing, protecting and enforcing franchised business relationships, product distribution systems and dealership networks. His franchise and distribution law practice specifically relates to licensing and development, regulation and compliance, and dispute resolution through mediation, arbitration and litigation. Murray’s litigation experience consists of general commercial litigation in state and federal courts, including franchise and distribution law, intellectual property, and real property matters.
Jason Murray received his B.A. from Duke University in 1988 and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1991.
