MIAMI – We are pleased to announce that Jason M. Murray was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2019 in the field of Franchise Law. Murray has been included on the list of Best Lawyers® in the practice area of Franchise Law since 2007. This year he received the high honor of being recognized by Best Lawyers® as the 2019 Franchise Law “Lawyer of the Year” award winner in Miami.
Since it was first published in 1983, Best Lawyers® has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. Best Lawyers lists are compiled based on an exhaustive peer-review evaluation. For the 2019 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America©, 7.8 million votes were analyzed, which resulted in almost 60,000 leading lawyers being included in the new edition. Lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed; therefore inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor. Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.”
Best Lawyers began designating “Lawyers of the Year” in the United States in high-profile legal practice areas in conjunction with its 15th edition (2009). Only a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year,” making this accolade particularly significant.
Lawyers being honored as “Lawyer of the Year” are selected based on particularly impressive voting averages received during the exhaustive peer-review assessments Best Lawyers conducts with thousands of leading lawyers each year. Receiving this designation reflects the high level of respect a lawyer has earned among other leading lawyers in the same communities and the same practice areas for their abilities, their professionalism, and their integrity.
Murray practices in the area of franchise and distribution law and provides counsel and assistance with creating, managing, licensing, protecting and enforcing franchised business relationships, product distribution systems and dealership networks. His franchise and distribution law practice specifically relates to licensing and development, regulation and compliance, and dispute resolution through mediation, arbitration and litigation. Murray’s litigation experience consists of general commercial litigation in state and federal courts, including franchise and distribution law, intellectual property, and real property matters. In addition, he serves as an arbitrator and focuses on the resolution of disputes between franchisors and franchisees or disputes otherwise involving franchising issues.
Jason Murray received his B.A. from Duke University in 1988 and his J.D. from the University Of Virginia School Of Law in 1991.
